Huyett Cemetery

The Huyett Cemetery is located in Hartslog Valley in Huntingdon County on private property. There are more photographs of the cemetery in the album Huyett Cemetery that was submitted by Les Kyle.

At one time, annual services were held at the cemetery to honor the soldiers buried there, who had fought in the War of 1812 and the Civil War.

Those interred in the cemetery with readable stones include:

Mary E. Brenneman, 1847-1932

Mary, wife of Rudolph Brenneman, died July 17, 1879 at 74 years 6 months 29 days

F. Marion, son of S. F. & R. Yocum, died July 7, 1896 at 20 years 2 months 27 days

Louisa, daughter of C. & Mariah Harnish, November 29, 1839 - December 1, 1850

David, son of Wm. Enyeart, died August 18, 1860 at 2 months and 25 days

Harry B., son of O. P. & M. A. Brenemen, died July 15, 1872 at 3 months and 1 day

Henry A., son of Joseph and Martha Knode, died June 26, 1857 at 14 months and 17 days

Samuel R., son of O. P. & M. A. ________, died _______ 185__ at ____________ 18 days

This is a partial transcription of the cemetery based on photographs taken and submitted by Les Kyle. In her book, The Lost and Forgotten Cemeteries of Huntingdon County, Pennsylvnia, Polly Wheland recorded at least 56 marked graves and many unmarked graves. The cemetery has been heavily damaged since Polly did her cemetery transcription.
