Camp S-60 Whipple Place Aerial View
This sketch was shared with me by Paul Fagley at Greenwood Furnace State Park, DCNR. He said the following about this camp, "That is a sketch of Camp S-60, located about 6 miles east of Whipple Dam State Park. It was established on June 5, 1933, as the Whipple Place Camp, Co. 399. By late 1937, the camp had been closed. On December 22, 1937, Company 1381, located at S-112 Martin?s Gap (Detweiler) was relocated to S-60, and the camp was renamed Owl?s Gap. In the summer of 1941, this camp was closed, and Company 3306 was relocated there. It only lasted to Nov 15, 1941. This time, the camp was called the Petersburg Camp."
