A free Family History Workshop will be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at the Standing Stone Senior Center, 931 Washington St., Huntingdon. The workshop is open to the public and volunteers will be on hand to help participants learn how to research and record their family history.
The senior center is equipped with wireless capability and several volunteers will bring their laptops to take advantage of genealogical resources on the Internet. Participants may bring their own laptops if they desire, but it is not a requirement.
Volunteer Diane Jackson of Miller Township hopes each participant will be able to "take home an ancestor." To that end, it would be helpful if participants brought any known information - dates and places of birth, marriage or death - for one or more of their ancestors, but volunteers will do what they can to work with approximate information.
The free workshop is sponsored by the Huntingdon Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For more information, call 889-9781.
