Genealogy of the Woodcock Valley

Raystown Lake Cemetery Relocations

When the US Army Corps of Engineers built Raystown Lake, a number of cemeteries and graves had to be relocated to above the flood plain.  Family members had a choice of where they wanted their loved ones reinterred.  This list shows all of the reinterred graves and where they were moved to.

Soldiers of the Woodcock Valley

My husband's family has placed flags for Memorial Day on the graves of the veterans in Woodcock Valley for many, many years.  This list is the one we use to place the flags.  This list is not inclusive of the entire Valley, only the cemeteries we are responsible for which include the Shultz, Reformed, Union, Frank, Old Stone Church, Valley View, and Grove Cemeteries.  These cemeteries are in Lincoln Township, Marklesburg Borough, and Penn Township.  The lists are in an order of where we find the tombstones.
