This white oak was once believed to be the largest tree in the state. It stood beside the Penn Township road going from Brumbaugh Crossing to Route 26, and cars passed right under it. It was on property owned by Rev. Irvin B. Brumbaugh. In 1924, it measured 24 feet in circumference one foot from the ground and the branches measured 94 feet across. It is estimated that the tree stood about 80 feet tall.
