Hi!
My name is Rick Spencer. I am a retired Baptist pastor and a military historian. Several years ago I purchased the World War diary kept by Linton Henry Hoover. Currently I am editing his diary so that his wartime experiences are not lost. If you can help me with any photos or information about him and his lovey wife, Lizzy, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from you!

Joan E. Schell says...
She was my great aunt, and I am named for her. She lived to be a little over 100 years old. When we visited her, she would always give us a jar of walnuts from her tree and some of her award- winning potatoes from her garden. She took care of the neighbor's cat, Muffin. She was an excellent seamstress. I miss her and think of her all the time. She was a role model for me because of her independence, sense of humor, and caring for others.

I have this picture of Lizzy from my mother's (Harriet Norris McCall) albums-Lizzy was a special lady who lived in Hesston and was a good friend to many. Later years, my pastor, James Blair, bought her house and lived there-the house burned down while pastor was away one day. When the cleanup began, with bulldozers etc, I was observing, and as the rhubarb bed was being pushed out, I claimed several roots-thus I have a rhubarb bed from Lizzy's prize rhubarb planting!
