Oscar Johnson was a traveling minstrel who spent part of his year in Marklesburg and the winters in Florida. He was born in Marklesburg, a son of George and Louisa (Megahan) Johnson. Oscar put on black make-up and a green velvet coat, used a sheet as a backdrop, and played all sorts of musical instruments. I have other photos available from the late Clair Hetrick.
