Battle of Gettysburg - Page 1
This four page letter was written on July 6, 1863 immediately following the Battle of Gettysburg. Anthony J. Beaver (1832-1899) wrote the letter to his father, Samuel Beaver (1811-1885). The letter was shared with me by Joanne Sauter, a great-granddaughter of Anthony J. Beaver. The letter chronicles burying Matthew G. Isett at Gettysburg and lists all of those injured from Co. C of the 53rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, with which Anthony Beaver served.
