From the Daily News obituary of Evelyn Oswalt Lane, 1918-2000--
she was the daughter of Lillian Elizabeth Crownover and George V Oswalt.
(Lillian) Elizabeth Crownover 1889-1969 was the daughter of William Grant Crownover and Mary Ellen French. They had a farm in the Petersburg area. I have nothing on the French family.
