This is the grave of Matthew G. Isett (1838-1863) in the National Cemetery at Gettysburg, Adams County, PA. Matthew was from the Woodcock Valley. He served with Co. C of the 53rd PVI. Matthew was killed in the Battle of Gettysburg. His father went to visit the scene of his son's death shortly after the battle, contracted blood poisoning, and died shortly after the visit.
