Anthony J. Beaver (1832-1899) wrote this letter to his brother, presumably Jackson S. Beaver. Anthony served with Co. C of the 53rd PVI, and was located near Harper's Ferry at the time of this letter. He mentions local names who are actually at Harper's Ferry. This letter was shared by Anthony's great-granddaughter, Joanne Sauter.

Sarah, I would love to believe a photo exists, but I don't know who might have one. If someone has one, I would love to add it to this website. I know there were more letters too, but I have posted all I have received. I'm glad you are enjoying the website. It is a labor of love.

Anthony J. Beaver was the nephew of my great-great-great-great-great grandmother. Are there any known pictures of him? I have read all of the available letters, and I would love to put a face to his name and the letters that he wrote!! By the way, I love this website, there is a plethora of information and pictures. It is very useful and helpful! Thanks!
