Huyett Cemetery, located in Hartslog Valley, Huntingdon County, PA. It appears as if a new stone was placed on the original base. This photo was submitted by Debbie Lesslie.
Hi Sandra - been trying to contact you for some time. In reading information on Daniel's father, it appeared that his father's name was Henry and he had a brother named John. I read this in J. Simpson Africa's book so I am a little confused. It is written in the book that Adam Hagy was an early settler on the road between McConnellstown and Huntingdon on the Old Bedford Road. Nearer the Village Henry Kyper made some improvements at an early date. He was the father of Daniel Kyper, yet living, and of another son named John. This portion of the book was 1883. Would it be asking too much for you to send me a copy of this sale of the property and a copy of his will? Or, could you tell me if you found this in the courthouse in Huntingdon and I could go get them. Hope all is well with you - have not seen you for quite a few years. Are you still in Maryland? Talk with you later . Dolly
My great, great, great grandfather, Daniel Griffith Kyper, was married to a Margaret Householder. He was born in 1795: I believe she was born in 1803. They are buried in the cemetery behind the McConnellstown Playhouse in McConnellstown, PA.
His father's name was Daniel Kyper, also. He bought a plot of land on Hartslog Valley road in 1794. It is still there and used to be the Kyper Turkey farm. He moved here from the Hagerstown, MD area. I have a copy of the sale of this proprerty to him, and a copy of his will.
