An obit from the Altoona Mirror, July 23, 1901, transcribed on a GenWeb site (http://files.usgwarchives.org/pa/huntingdon/obits/knode-george-e .txt) says he died of lockjaw at his house in Marklesburg. His wife was listed among survivors, but not named.
A bio, from the Commemorative Biographical Encyclopedia of the Juniata Valley, transcribed on another GenWeb page (http://files.usgwarchives.net/pa/huntingdon/bios/runk/knode-geor ge-e.txt) says he was married to an Elizabeth Howard, daughter of Peter and Mary (Wolfe) Howard of Athens County, Ohio.
