About Me

I am interested in the Isett family.  Mary Ellen Isett married Samuel Rankin Campbell 25 December 1860.  I also had Campbell antecedents in the Alexandria area.

Mary Ellen Isett was born to Miss Mary Ann Campbell in 1836  -- the same year that Thomas Madison Isett left Huntingdon County to go west.  Tom had an interesting career, including marriage to a young Iowa girl who soon divorced him.

About Me

I am researching the family of fifth-great-grandfather, Abraham Grubb (Krob/Krupp/Kropf), who moved to Huntingdon County in the late 1700s and died there in 1814, as well as related families.

About Me

I was born and live on the west coast of Scotland, started my family research around 2009 and with a bit of help was very successful.  I discovered via Debbie's hard work with this site that some of my Kiltie ancestors from Scotland had settled in Huntingdon and Margaret Kiltie had married John E Hoover of  McConnelstown.  Margaret B Hoover passed away in 1960 and had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Braddock.

I would really like to know more about their lives, for instance the fact that they operated a fish market in Huntingdon, there has to be many stories regarding this, and above all a photo of the family, but  I think this may be too much to expect or hope for.

My thanks to Debbie, without her posts I would never have known where in the U.S.A. my ancestors had settled.

Best Regards

Celtie

About Me

Am very interested in the isett info, as I strongly suspect the name may in fact be Isacks, my own maiden name, which a great-uncle has traced back to Jacob Isacks, born in Montgomery County PA in 1767.  His wife's name and his own preceise lineage going backwards is not so clear, but FROM him to me we have a confirmed lineage (see the Jack Fitzhugh Hoyt Family Tree in Ancestry.com).

If you have any information or ideas for me I would appreciate it.

About Me

I married into the Garner family from Marklesburg.  My name is Kim Rupert-Garner and I grew up in Petersburg, PA.  I have been researching my husband, John's, family as well as my own.  My husband comes from the John Michael Garner family.  My roots are from the Garlock family.  Thanks for the website and all member's contribution.

About Me

I have been doing my family history for over 40 years.  I have a database of over 40,000 records.

Wookcock Valley is important to me because many of my ancestors were there, or from there.

I share my records with those who are willing to share with me.  My work is a labor of love and not for money.

My childhood home was Ashtabula County, Ohio.  My Father Carl Showalter, and Grandfather, Frederick N. Showalter were from Rays Cove, Bedford County.  My Great Grandfather, John M. Showalter, and 2nd Great Grandfather, Abraham Showalter were from Penn Twp. Huntingdon Country.  My 3rd Great Grandfather, Abraham Showalter was born in Chester County and died in Cass Twp. Huntingdon County.

The most important find for me would be to find positive proof of the surname of Abrahams wife, Nancy, who is buried in Valley View (Brumbaugh) Cemetery.  Some say she was a Snare, but no proof has been found.

My records are not limited to Pennsylvania.
