About Me

Researching the Lee family. Robert Lee and wife Elizabeth purchased land in the Woodcock Valley in 1795 and at least some of it was passed down through his son James and his son John.  The property was lost when it had to be sold to pay debts at the death of John Lee in 1875.

About Me

I am interested in the Isett family.  Mary Ellen Isett married Samuel Rankin Campbell 25 December 1860.  I also had Campbell antecedents in the Alexandria area.

Mary Ellen Isett was born to Miss Mary Ann Campbell in 1836  -- the same year that Thomas Madison Isett left Huntingdon County to go west.  Tom had an interesting career, including marriage to a young Iowa girl who soon divorced him.

About Me

My Name is Colin Shepherd Quentin Wolcott, Son of Wesley Alan & Nancy Faye (Myers) Wolcott. My Grandmother is Helen Marie (Garner) Myers, Daughter of Melvin Clyde and Olive (Norris) Garner. Olive Norris was the daughter of Emanuel and Catharine Norris. 1 of 9 siblings. not sure where it goes after that, but I do know that it picks up with Samuel W. Norris. Melvin Clyde Garner was the son of Edmund Parks Garner and Mary Ann (Anderson) Garner.  would also like to trace the Myers family of Blair county as well as any andersons that are related to Norris, garner, fisher or myers families.

I am a historian of sorts. junior historian... I don't know. What I do know is that I have a deep love for discovery and for histoy. especially family history. on my dads side I have one royal governor, Roger Wolcott, one signer of the declaration of independence, oliver Wolcott, and one secretary of the treasury oliver Wolcott jr. not bragging, really. just knowing this has led me to discover more about my own past and my families. to me, knowing where I come from helps me feel connected to who I am.

One day I came across your posting of the Johnston family album.  I couldn't believe my luck.  I am not a Johnston but I was trying to find photos of my Shollar line and there were no shortage of them there.  There were several wonderful pictures of my three greats Uncle Fred Shollar and his wife Lydia (Johnston) as well as their children Marjorie and Gerald.  Also the photo of Fred's mother, Isabel Cooper Shollar who lived in Williamsburg, Pa and was the wife of Capt James Stewart Shollar who served in the civil war. Another bit of luck is that I had been in touch with Marjorie Shollar's granddaughter and was able to tell her of all the wonderful Shollar and Johnston photos at the Histrory of Woodcock Valley.
