Genealogy of the Woodcock Valley

My wife is the great granddaughter of Davis G. Enyeart and have become interested in this area through research of her family tree.

   I am passionate about genealogy and love researching my various family lines. Many of my lines intersect in Pennsylvania so much of my interest is focused there. I live in California and am very grateful for all the help I have received from my online friends.

  My main area of research is my Isett line, but I am also especially interested in Oliver, Rodgers, Eby, and Grubbe.

    Frances Rodgers(b. 1778) married Henry Isett, and Nancy Nelson Oliver (b.1816) married Edward Bell Isett. Although I think that Frances Rodgers' parents were Samuel Rodgers and Jane, and I think that Nancy Nelson Oliver's parents were Joseph Oliver and Mary, I have been unable to find documentation. I would love to hear from anyone who has knowledge or interest in those families.

I was born and raised in marklesburg. My maternal grandparents were Charles L. Frank who was born in Marklesburg and Edna ( lauderbaugh ) who was born in Piney Grove Md. and raised im Marklesburg. My paternal grandparents were Richard A. Launtz who was born and raised in Johnstown Pa and Florence C( Horton) who was born and raised in Broad Top Pa.

I was born and raised in Penn Twp; just recently became interested in genealogy; I     spend much time in Huntingdon County Courthouse and Juniata College Library  where I find many answers to family births, marriages, and death dates.

 My research currently is on my grandmother, Bessie (Grove) McCall's two sisters, Laura (Grove) Smith and Mary( Grove) Smith,  who lived in Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co.  They were born here in Penn Twp , Huntingdon County; married two Smith brothers,  Samuel and Jacob  from Centre County.  The husbands had a thriving Smith Brothers Bakery in Pittsburgh during the 1920, 1930, and maybe in 1940s. They employed family members and other men during that time.

We've lost complete contact with this part of our family.

These two ladies, Laura and Mary, are two of fifteen children of the Benjamin and Hannah (Johnston/Johnson) Grove family.
