Genealogy of the Woodcock Valley

I am the creator of Genealogy of the Woodcock Valley.  My goal is to share all of the information I have collected over the years and will continue to collect.  My collecting has slowed down tremendously, since I now have a son, who keeps me quite busy.  I am also a full time first grade teacher.  My main lines of research include:  Riley, Garner, Isett, Norris, Fisher, Anderson, Kinch, Creighton, and Watson.  However, I am game for almost any name from Huntingdon County!

I have spent the last ten years researching my ancestor John David Fisher. He married Margaret Weaver and moved from Huntindon, Pa in 1854 to Illinois. He purchased 40 acres of land in 1850 for $1.25 an acre. The land grant is signed by Willard Fillmore President of the United States. My quest to prove whom where his parents. There are so mamy Henry Fishers and and just need to sort out the correct one.

I carry on the Fisher trait of height, being the shortest of four brothers at six foot three inches. My day was six foot five inches tall. Thanks to Deb Fisher Riley for pointing out this web site.

I am a former resident of Aitch, PA.  I had 4 brothers and lived below the tracks near Grantsville School.  We lost our house when they built the lake.

I grew up in the ridges of Penn Twp. near the White Church.  I have been working on Norris, McCall,Grove and related families.  I have lived away from the area 50 years, but am in Huntingdon County a number of times each year visiting relatives, of whom there are many, and coming to reunions(5 or 6).

I'm Heather Fisher. I'm the daughter of Dr. Larry and Ms. Carol Fisher. I am Married to Furl Sneath who died in October 2010. We have 3 children; Dante Fisher, Sabin Fisher, and Sophie Fisher-Sneath.

My wife is the great granddaughter of Davis G. Enyeart and have become interested in this area through research of her family tree.

My local ancestry is Swope, White, Edwards, Cook, Brown Carothers, Gordon.  Many resided in Woodcock Valley. My stepfather owned a large farm in Woodcock Valley near Shy Beaver and I spent many happy times on the farm until they sold it in the 1980's. I am particularly interested in the John Gordon family that lived in McConnellstown. I retired from a very long accounting career and now do genealogical research full time, at a professional level.

My Family was from Penn. Just doing some deep research and  genealogy on the  Grove  line.  My Grandfather  was  Homer S Grove. married to  Martha (Notestine)(sp)
