About Me

I've lived in Ohio most of my life.  My branch of the Norris family is dominated by farmers.  We haven't farmed in a generation or so, but there's so much dirt in our bloodline we still bleed brown.  I've restarted our family reunion after a 26-year hiatus and am hoping to develop a family history and lineage to share with the rest of my cousins.

About Me

My name is Ruby Shirk Keller.  I grew up on the ridge between Hesston and Raystown.  My mother's maiden name was Shingler.  Her parents were Mary Ellen (Nellie) Magill Shingler and Robert Shingler.  She has lived on the farm since 1919.  She will be 94 in September.  I have 2 brothers...Robert and Raymond, and a sister Helen.  Most of my ancestors on my mothers side are buried in the Anderson, White Church and Old Stone Church cemeteries.

About Me

My dad John F. Rinker, born 1920 grew up in McConnellstown, PA.  His mother was Pearl Rinker and they lived in the house beside the old Methodist Church. My dad is still living.

My maternal grandmother was Genevieve Fisher, and she lived in McConnellstown and attended the new Methodist Church.  My mother was Mary Elizabeth Rinker known by all as Betty.  She was born in 1920, and she went to Huntington High School.  She passed away 26 years ago.

My husband and I visit McConnellstown every year.  We love the area.

One of their sons, David Beaver Harker married Jane Norris in Huntingdon Co.. I am trying to find her father.
