I am researching the family of fifth-great-grandfather, Abraham Grubb (Krob/Krupp/Kropf), who moved to Huntingdon County in the late 1700s and died there in 1814, as well as related families.

About Me

I am interested in the Isett family.  Mary Ellen Isett married Samuel Rankin Campbell 25 December 1860.  I also had Campbell antecedents in the Alexandria area.

Mary Ellen Isett was born to Miss Mary Ann Campbell in 1836  -- the same year that Thomas Madison Isett left Huntingdon County to go west.  Tom had an interesting career, including marriage to a young Iowa girl who soon divorced him.

About Me

I started doing my Clark genealogy several years ago. My father was born and raised in Huntingdon County, but I had never lived there and only visited ny aunt in Shade Gap a few times when I was a child.  Since then I have found my family lines have been in Huntingdon since the 1700's, being among the early settlers to the area. My first Clark there was Neal Clark of the Tod area.  My other lines in the county include Houck, Corbin, Baker, Benson, Peterson, Hatt, Cassady, Kelley, and Devor.  I welcome contact from any other researchers.

About Me

I have spent the last ten years researching my ancestor John David Fisher. He married Margaret Weaver and moved from Huntindon, Pa in 1854 to Illinois. He purchased 40 acres of land in 1850 for $1.25 an acre. The land grant is signed by Willard Fillmore President of the United States. My quest to prove whom where his parents. There are so mamy Henry Fishers and  just need to sort out the correct one.

I carry on the Fisher trait of height, being the shortest of four brothers at six foot three inches. My dad was six foot five inches tall. Thanks to Deb Fisher Riley for pointing out this web site.

Update: I spent part of a day at the Land Office in Dixon, Illinois. I was able to get a copy of the Land Grant of Henry Fisher and his wife. i later went to the land he had bought and talked with the present owner. He thought his family were somehow related. But he never checked into to history. He said his family were from the same area in PA. That his family had bought Land Grant Land in 1841. Another trip back to the Land Office proved to be correct. William Fisher bought Land Grant in China Township now known as Franklin Grove. I was able to get a copy of this Deed.

This now has open up a whole lot of more questions! Somehow My Henry Fisher and William Fisher are related. Maybe someone in Huntingdon PA kowns this William Fisher.

I am planning another trip to Dixon, Il  Courthouse for more records on this Fisher side.
