Love old pictures. I was given a link for the woodcockvalley site that had a picture of the old Weaver homestead, saying that it had belonged to Henry and Rachel (Bryan) Weaver. One of Henry's brothers, Christian was my great, great, great grandfather. Hoping to someday find more info on their parents Jacob and Susan. Also on my great great grandparents John A. and Hannah Weaver. |

About Me
I am passionate about genealogy and love researching my various family lines. Many of my lines intersect in Pennsylvania so much of my interest is focused there. I live in California and am very grateful for all the help I have received from my online friends. My main area of research is my Isett line, but I am also especially interested in Oliver, Rodgers, Eby, and Grubbe. Frances Rodgers(b. 1778) married Henry Isett, and Nancy Nelson Oliver (b.1816) married Edward Bell Isett. Although I think that Frances Rodgers' parents were Samuel Rodgers and Jane, and I think that Nancy Nelson Oliver's parents were Joseph Oliver and Mary, I have been unable to find documentation. I would love to hear from anyone who has knowledge or interest in those families. |

About Me
I have spent the last ten years researching my ancestor John David Fisher. He married Margaret Weaver and moved from Huntindon, Pa in 1854 to Illinois. He purchased 40 acres of land in 1850 for $1.25 an acre. The land grant is signed by Willard Fillmore President of the United States. My quest to prove whom where his parents. There are so mamy Henry Fishers and just need to sort out the correct one. I carry on the Fisher trait of height, being the shortest of four brothers at six foot three inches. My dad was six foot five inches tall. Thanks to Deb Fisher Riley for pointing out this web site. Update: I spent part of a day at the Land Office in Dixon, Illinois. I was able to get a copy of the Land Grant of Henry Fisher and his wife. i later went to the land he had bought and talked with the present owner. He thought his family were somehow related. But he never checked into to history. He said his family were from the same area in PA. That his family had bought Land Grant Land in 1841. Another trip back to the Land Office proved to be correct. William Fisher bought Land Grant in China Township now known as Franklin Grove. I was able to get a copy of this Deed. This now has open up a whole lot of more questions! Somehow My Henry Fisher and William Fisher are related. Maybe someone in Huntingdon PA kowns this William Fisher. I am planning another trip to Dixon, Il Courthouse for more records on this Fisher side.

About Me
I have been interested in genealogy for years. I am a member of Ancestry .com. I have traced both the Groves on my father's side and my mother's (Mohler) back to Switzerland in the 1600's . On the Grove side Jacob Grove the first settler had an orphanage. On the Grove side, I have ancestors in the civil war (Levi C. Reed) and the Revolutionary War .
