This is the son of Peter, son of Jacob the immigrant.

Jacob and his brother, Peter, are recorded at Washington Crossing State Park. They were part of that historic event.

Being Mennonites they did not become soldiers, but provided Gen. Washington's army with supplies.

Abstract of Wills, Book 5, Bucks Co., Pa. 1786 to 1794. Jacob was a whitness to the Will of Ludwick Wooldunger, Bedminster Twp., 8 February 1793. Proved 28 April 1794. The Dutch Presbyterian Congregation of Bedminster.

Jacobs brother, Peter, may have purchased the Chester County property. Peter Showalter was taxed in 1780 for property in Chester County. (Pa. Archives, 3rd series, vol.12, page 305. There is not another known Peter who could have been taxed.

1800 Census, Charlestown Twp., Chester Co., Pa. recorded in the home of Jacob Showalter are 7 males and 4 females.

About 1815, Jacob moved to Huntingdon Co., Pa. At that time Hopewell comprised all, or most of, the Woodcock Valley.

Also are listed the names of his children, grandchildren and their spouses. This bible was in the posession of F.C. Moore of 4208 Adams Ave. Chicago, Illnois in the 1960's.

This information is also recorded 27 Feb 2011 among the records of Henry A. Showalter now at the Lancaster County Historical Society.

`Eldest of Juniata Twp., Huntingdon Co., Pa.' No widow. Wills of Huntingdon Co. Pa.

About 1877, one son, was in Massilon, Starke Co. Ohio. He may have been a Miller there.

Joseph Showalter was born in Huston Township, Blair County, where his father and mother founded the family home after their marriage. His mother was a native of Germany. He passed his life in Huston Township and was a farmer all his days. His death occurred many years ago. He married Mary Lynn, who was also born in Blair County, and of their children the following survive: Susan, who was the wife of Samuel Frederick, of Bedford County; Jacob, who resides in North Woodberry Township; Felix, who lives in Huston township; David L. who is a resident of Taylor Township; Mary, who is the wife of John Smith, of Taylor Township; and Adam, who lives in Blair Township.

Isaac SHOWALTER

Isaac and his family were Lutherns. Garners are buried on either side of his family.

He resided in Henderson Twp. Huntingdon County. Location of property can be located on the 1871 township map.

Orphans Court Records, Huntingdon Co. #333 pg237 - Inquest awarded to Mary upon her petition in 1881. An inventory of property was taken in 1882. #49 pg279. A rule on heirs in 1882, #154 pg302.

In 1882 his widow Mary their daughters Anna M, Susannah, Eliza Ann, and husbands sell the land on Mifflin St. Huntingdon to Isaac's son, Anthony. This land belonged to Joseph Showalter and wife Elizabeth by their deed dated 17 Oct. 1874. Before Joseph, the land was owned by Isaac and Mary deed dated 14 Apr 1874. On the 12th of June 1885, Anthony had paid for the land in full. $283.33 which was due upon the death of Mary Showalter. Recorded may 15, 1894. Huntingdon co. Pa. Deed Book E-4.
