Joanne Sauter has a total of six Civil War letters from her great-grandfather, Anthony Beaver. I now have three of them posted in the Beaver Family photo album and will post the others as soon as I receive them. I am finding it quite fascinating to read each letter. This letter mentions Davis Enyeart at the end. Here is the excerpt:
I suspect that Anthony was writing to his brother David. David Beaver married Charlotte Enyeart in 1866. Since Charlotte's father died in 1854, it would have probably fallen on her oldest brother, Davis Enyeart, to give permission for Charlotte's marriage to David Beaver. This is all theory and conjecture on my part, but the above excerpt makes me think that Anthony was expecting David to talk to Davis about his sister's hand. A romantic tale, yes?
