Have you ever watched the show Who Do You Think You Are? It usually airs on NBC at 8:00 p.m. EST on Friday nights. The show is sponsored by Ancestry.com and features celebrities who are searching for their family roots. Season two has featured Tim McGraw, Kim Cattrall, Lionel Richie, Rosie O'Donnell, and Vanessa Williams. The celebrity being featured starts with information he or she knows and then meets with professional genealogists and librarians along the way to work back in time. They often visit cemeteries, home sites, and countries of origin. They sometimes even meet new relatives along the way. The show makes genealogy look so easy; but why wouldn't it be when you have professionals handing you all of the references you need, and money for travel is no obstacle. I do find it amazing that genealogy research has become so popular that NBC has been able to keep a show such as this going for two seasons now. If you ever have a chance to check the show out, I do recommend it for entertainment purposes. You can also view previous episodes by clicking on the link above. So, Who Do You Think You Are?
